Plum blossom (Méihuā 梅花) on its own represents longevity but paired with bamboo (Zhúzi竹子) create a wish for double happiness. The five petals of the plum blossom are auspicious since the number five is sacred in China and the bamboo represents strength. The combination is often given as a wedding gift.
